NOTE: It's important to keep your SPOT device at least 12 inches away from other GPS devices. Learn More about PED interference in aircraft in Additional Information's Section

How can the SPOT interference be prevented in aircraft?

In most cases, keeping the SPOT device at least 12 to 18 inches away from any navigation equipment or GPS antennas should resolve the issue. This can be challenging in smaller aircraft, as many pilots prefer to place the SPOT device on the glare shield. If interference occurs, try relocating the SPOT device and check again for interference. Continue adjusting its position until the issue is resolved. Note that in some cases, the interference may not be resolved unless the SPOT device is turned off.
